Talk about your younger man – older woman senario….. Aaron Johnson is 19 and at 43, Taylor-Wood is 24 years older than Johnson and already a mother of two from an 11-year marriage to art dealer Jay Jopling.

Despite the age difference and existing family, Johnson is madly in love.

“I’ve got a wonderful woman,” the 19-year-old says. “She’s lovely and she’s a fantastic mother.”

You know those expensive beautiful dresses that you bought 15 years ago, they may still fit (go girl!) and everyone knows that a expensive, classic outfit will last for years, however it’s time you bought some trendy upscale clothes that shows the “new you”. Behaving younger just won’t cut it.

Many of us tend to get stuck with the last look that we really understood and go on working it. We feel comfortable with the look, it hides our body flaws and though not at the height of fashion refuse to move out of the 80’s or 90’s.

Let’s face it, smocks, vest tops, neon colors and skinny jeans may be all the rage, but they probably should not be in your wardrobe. Your goal here is to give the world the impression that you’re a sophisticated woman. Dress like one.

Younger, trendy clothes doesn’t mean you’re looking for the same look as those hard bodied teens who insist on showing the world their navels. What is possibly more pitiful is middle-aged woman trying to remain young by wearing what the “kids” are wearing. What you don’t realize is that what they are really doing is pointing out, quite visibly, that you aren’t a kid any more. Trying to look 20 when you’re 45 will make you the butt of jokes, but there’s no reason that you can’t chop 10 years off your look with a fashion statement.

You also need to forget the idea that it’s okay to wear certain things when you’re a certain age. When I was 30 I didn’t have to read a fashion magazine to know what I wanted to wear: But most of us over 50 and over 40 as well, find this instinct fades as we age and takes with it that confidence that seems to be in the possession of younger women as they sashay into the room just knowing they’ve got it right.

Take those classic rags and donate them to Goodwill. You’re going to be amazed at just how young you’ll feel in a new outfit.

Lastly, if you really want to look younger, invest in a hairstyle overhaul. Modernizing that reliable haircut you’ve had for a while will take more years off you than a miniskirt. And you’ll keep your self-respect, too.

On the heels of a ruling that struck down California’s laws against gay marriage, Ellen DeGeneres announced her plans to wed longtime girl-toy, Portia de Rossi. Ellen, 50, and her longtime love (since 2004 which can be “longtime” by Hollywood Standards), Portia who’s 35, made the announcement before Ellen’s cheering audience.

The California’s Supreme Court ruled that people have a fundamental “right to marry” the partner of their choosing – therefore the previous ban on gay marriage was ruled unconstitutional.

One key to their happiness, DeGeneres said last year, is that they learn from one another. “She’s taught me lessons about myself, and I feel like I’ve taught her,” said the TV host. “We’ve both changed and grown, and we just feel like, ‘Oh, okay, this is completion.’ ”

Seems to me Ellen had similar things to say about wierd Anne Heche at one time!

It seems that Winston Barraclough met Bess Atkins in 2005 when Winston, a widower, was volunteering as a bus driver for the local hospital. His bus picked her up from her home and he instantly “took a shine” to Bess, a former civil servant, who had been a widow for 40 years. During that first fateful drive, he actually stopped to buy her a box of chocolates!

But it was only later, when she went searching for him, that romance blossomed. “When he dropped me off on that first meeting. I didn’t even know his name but I tracked him down to a shop in the centre I knew he visited,” Bess said.

“I was a bit nervous when I rang him to ask him around for a coffee – I thought he might think I was a fast woman.”

“But we had a great chemistry and I thought why not?”

Bess said Winston proposed to her in January of this year on New Year’s Day.

“Winston said he had something serious to say,” she said. “I thought it was some medical problem and feared the worst,”

Instead he popped the question – “Will you be my wife please. I would love to marry you.” Bess was shocked but I said “Yes, that would be lovely.”

Bess and Winston exchanged vows April 5 at St Nicholas Church in Hornsea, East Yorkshire, which happens to be the same church in which the new Mrs Barraclough first married almost 70 years ago, ten days before the outbreak of the Second World War.

Bess remarked that “Marrying in the same church was lovely and brought back “a lot of happy memories.”

The Rev. Phillip Lamb, who married them, said: “Love has no boundaries. It’s never too late for anyone and Winston and Bess are living proof of that.”

What did I learn from this lovely little tidbit?

• There’s hope for me yet. I need to start considering a boy toy that doesn’t necessary have the physique of Matthew McConaughey.
• I haven’t had a box of chocolates bought for me for some time. The chocolates the children give me get classified under “obligations to the old lady”, and don’t qualify.
• I need to quit hanging around the local coffee shops and Wal Mart and start prowling the bus stops.
• I’d like to know what hospital hires an 83 year old coot to drive it’s buses?

Just what is a few years? Two years seems fair, five may be stretching it, but probably ten years is pushing your future dating possibilities.

When we lie about our age, we’re probably going to attract the wrong kind of people. Also if you’ll lie about this, how many other things on your profile are false? If you’re looking for a quick one-night stand, then what the hell, but if you’re looking for some form of meaningful relationship then you’ll need to start the process out on a truthful basis.

Moral? If you’ve lied about your age on your profile, you need to get it straightened out ASAP with your new love interest.

Here are some insights as to why some women prefer to date younger guys.

Not every girl wants a father figure. Often, a man who’s older than you assumes a protective and paternal role; and to many women, this is a real turn-off. Why? Well, for starters, we already have a daddy! Not to mention, the woman who holds a high-paying exec job Monday through Friday may have some trouble playing Helpless Heather on the weekends. She’s used to taking care of herself, speaking on her own behalf, and yes, even paying her own way without the help of Daddy Warbucks.

Younger men are often better in bed. Ahh, the cruel irony of life. Remember sex with your college girlfriend? That 21-year-old ‘fraidy cat is now a tigress of temptation. Younger guys look up to an older, successful woman. Let’s talk about those corporate power babes again. Sometimes, it’s lonely at the top… but not when there’s a starry-eyed cutie-pie smiling up at you! There’s something to be said for having a younger guy who admires you for your accomplishments. It makes you feel great, and the sad fact is, you can’t always get that kind of respect from an older man. Baby Boomers may love Donna Reed, but guys born later can understand and better appreciate women who go after their dreams.

The metrosexual male is our cup of tea. Nothing like having your boy over for some afternoon delight and finding out he borrowed your loofah in the shower. The New Generation of open-minded guys is A-OK in our book! This guy can whip up a Thai stir-fry using organic ingredients, grooms his fingernails and his toenails, is politically-correct to a fault, and won’t eat Starkist if it might harm the baby dolphins. To the 40-something who grew up with Archie Bunker, he’s a breath of fresh air.

Girls just want to have fun. Some of us are downright immature, and we’re not afraid to say it! Perhaps “young at heart” is the better term, but the point is this: some older women really do just want to have fun. Lots of broads who are pushing fifty still rock out at concerts, drive 70 mph with the top down, stay out all night, flip people off when necessary, and generally wreak havoc. That’s not to say we can’t find a man of ANY age to engage in juvenile antics with us… but, well, the younger ones just seem more willing to join in the fun.

Some women are late bloomers. Embarrassing as it may be, plenty of chicks spend the better part of their 20s mired in self-doubt and confusion. Instead of kicking back like they should have, the rainclouds of pessimism hung around to dampen their fun and turn them into neurotic freaks. Ten years later, some of those very same basketcases have mellowed into chill ladies who are just now ready to embrace life to the fullest. If this involves cavorting with young fellas in ways they never thought possible, all the better! Better late than never, right girls?

Guys in their prime are ohhhh, so fine. If you had to choose between a thick, juicy steak and some shriveled up beef jerky, which one would you pick? In the same way that men can’t help looking at supple young girls, we ladies find ourselves drawn to guys under thirty. Younger men have tight bodies, bright eyes, great smiles, and usually a crowd of buddies to keep them laughing and pumped for excitement. What’s the alternative? The balding bachelor with a beer gut who sits home smoking stogies and listening to Springsteen’s Glory Days on repeat mode? No, thanks!

In all seriousness, it shouldn’t matter the age of two people who mutually respect and enjoy each other’s company. We love who we love, not matter what their age or what they look like.
