She may be one of our favorite cougars, but she’s picked her boytoy with better precision that she has her movies. Forget the fact that Geena Davis hasn’t had a big screen Hollywood hit in some time. Her last hits were in 1991 and 1992 for Thelma and Louise[tag] and [tag]A League Of Their Own. Her Oscar winning performance in The Accidental Tourist (1988) just isn’t carrying much weight these days.
Not only does she appear to have a knack for picking the wrong pictures to showcase her talents, prior to her 4th marriage to Dr. Reza Jarrahy, who’s 15 years her junior, she’s struck out in the marriage department with Jeff Goldblum, (Transylvania 6-5000, The Fly and Earth Girls Are Easy) Richard Emmolo and and Renny Harlin (Cutthroat Island and The Long Kiss Goodnight).
In television she was off to a rocky start with her short-lived sitcom The Geena Davis Show. But this show was the forerunner for better things to come as she guest-starred as Grace Adler’s sister Janet on the NBC sitcom Will & Grace in 2004.
Finally the viewers sat up and took notice as she starred in the ABC television series Commander in Chief as the first female President of the United States. This role captured her a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama Series in 2006. She also was nominated for a SAG Award for Outstanding Female Actor in a Drama Series and an Emmy Award.
Here’s hoping her newest venture “Exit 19, scheduled to premiere this fall, will give us another round of awards.

We’re looking forward to statuesque (6 ft. tall) Geena Davis starring as a quirky Manhattan detective, who is also a single mom living in the suburbs, in “Exit 19″ for CBS.
“Exit 19″ was developed at ABC Studios and Davis will serve as a co-executive producer.
Geena’s innate goofiness should fit right in with CBS’s description of “quirky” and give Genna another top television vehicle to showcase her many talents.
Davis, last appeared as the lead in ABC drama Commander in Chief, which ended its run in 2006.
P.S. Did you know that Last year, Davis was approached for the lead on “Criminal Minds” after the exit of star Mandy Patinkin.

Geena Davis Makes a Difference
A little know fact is that Academy Award winning actress, [tag]Geena Davis fronts the Women’s Sports Foundation campaign Geena Takes Aim in support of Title IX — an Act of Congress focusing on equality in sports opportunities and eventually expanded to prohibit gender discrimination in United States’ educational institutions.
In 2005, Geena Davis teamed up with the non-profit group Dads and Daughters to launch See Jane (seejane.org), a venture dedicated to balancing the number of male and female characters in children’s TV and movie programming. Her not-for-profit www.SeeJane.org did the largest study ever done of G-rated movies and found that 3 out of 4 characters are male — even today! SeeJane is currently undertaking a study of TV shows and will be doing a study of PG-13 movies soon.
“It sprang out of watching preschool kids’ programs with my daughter and noticing how imbalanced the ratio of male to female characters is, still, on shows. The ratio seemed to be 3-to-1 or 4-to-1, and the female character — usually there was one — would be very stereotyped,” Davis says. “So I started to think, what is the message we’re still sending to kids? That boys’ stories are more interesting, more prevalent and significant, and that girls, if they are there at all, are peripheral and acting stereotypically girlie.”
“I think it would be hard to argue that kids are better off if characters in movies and TV shows they watch are predominantly male,” Davis says. “For boys to see girls taking up half the space on the planet is a really good thing. And for girls to see themselves taking up half the space is a good thing.“

Geena Davis’ tale of how she met her husband Reza Jarrahy sounds like something out of a Jennifer Aniston movie.

“We had never met but had a friend in common. I was visiting my friend one day and stashed my dog in his house. While we were out, Reza dropped by and walked in like he always did. My dog chased him out of the house, across the yard, and bit him on the butt as he was jumping over the fence to get away from her. I met him later that day, and I thought, ‘Who’s this cute guy who might sue me?’ ”
Instead of resorting to litigation, the two began dating and, in September 2001, tied the knot.
It looks like her dog recognizes a first rate rare steak when he sees one. Considering one of Geena’s many talents is dog training, I’d say she could replace the Dog Whisperer if she can train the dogs of mature women to seek out hot young [tag]boy-toys[/tag1].
Based on Geena and Reza’s love story, my lack of catching a boytoy for myself could be attributed to my own little princess “Sophie Sue”. She tends to attack a guy’s crotch rather than his butt.
