Actor Aaron Johnson has a lot of reasons to smile. His superhero film “Kick-Ass” was the number one movie at the box office last weekend, and off screen he’s engaged to be married to his seven-months-pregnant fiancée, British artist Sam Taylor-Wood.

The couple met when she directed him in Nowhere Boy.

Talk about your younger man – older woman senario….. Aaron Johnson is 19 and at 43, Taylor-Wood is 24 years older than Johnson and already a mother of two from an 11-year marriage to art dealer Jay Jopling.

Despite the age difference and existing family, Johnson is madly in love.

“I’ve got a wonderful woman,” the 19-year-old says. “She’s lovely and she’s a fantastic mother.”

These cougars are finding cubs younger and younger all the time…..

It appears that the rumors circulating on the net regarding 78 year old Elizabeth Taylor’s impending marriage to Jason Winters, 49 are untrue. Our famous Snow Leopard (the oldest tag for [tag]cougars), has no intention of walking down the aisle for the 9th time with her latest squeeze.

Using Twitter to dispel the rumor, she set fans straight …….

“The rumors regarding my engagement simply aren’t true,” Taylor tweeted. “Jason is my manager and dearest friend. I love him with all my heart.”

The Oscar-winning actress has been busy preparing for the launch of her newest fragrance — Violet Eyes — on Mother’s Day.

The fragrance is already sold out to retailers, the source close to Taylor said.

She created it with the same chemist who formulated her last fragrance, White Diamonds, which has been a best-seller since it was first released two decades ago.

Love Potion Number 9 For Elizabeth Taylor

US Magazine is reporting that Jason Winters is soon to become #9 in the long list of Liz’s husbands. Mr Winters is a sprightly 49 while the serial bride recently celebrated her 78th birthday.

An insider told the magazine: “It’s no secret that they’ve been together forever and are in love, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they were engaged. Right now they are keeping it between them. She didn’t think she’d fall in love again, but since Jason came into her lifem that has all changed.”

Mr. Winters is a California businessman who manages Janet Jackson’s career.

Taylor has been married eight times before, twice to Richard Burton.

Her exes are: Conrad Hilton (1950-51), Michael Wilding (1952-57), Mike Todd (1957-58), Eddie Fisher (1959-64), Richard Burton (1964-74 and again 1975-76), Sen. John Warner (1976-82) and Larry Fortensky (1991-96).

The 29 year difference in their ages makes Liz one of my favorite Cougars. However the older woman younger man scenario is not news to the bride. Liz’s 8th husband,  Larry Fortensky (1991-96) was 20 years her senior at the time of their wedding.

The couple have not announced a date for their nuptials, and their managers have yet to confirm the betrothal.

Mature Women as Cougars were scandalous then intriguing and are now simply ordinary.

Thanks to the booming divorce market, we now live in an age when more and more 35-and-older women are both single and financially independent. Add image-enhancing prospects created by fitness, diet and plastic surgery, and you have something approximating a new species of woman. And every new species needs a new name, in this case homo cougarus – The Cougar.

This is the Golden Age for mature women and we not just talking on the Hollywood scene. You have Katie Couric presenting the news to the nation every night. Women such as Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton on the political front and fabulous Hollywood ladies such as Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep, Susan Sarandon all have some things in common. Most are highly intelligent, and most are glamorous. These women and the breed of women they represent have their own money, their own power.

Backing up the cougar craze as the buzzpoint of a larger population shift are the statistics cited in the new book Microtrends, which features a chapter on cougars. Among the book’s findings:

U.S Census bureau statistics show that the number of couples in which the woman was significantly older than the man shot up by more than 3 million between 1997 and 2003.

We think Katie Couric is still one hell of a cougar even though her romance has now fizzled with her boy toy, Brooks Perlin, we salute the lady for knowing how to pick em’.

Screw the ratings when you’ve got a hunky looking triathlete with one of the best pedigrees in the country. So who is Brooks Perlin? The prep school-educated son of a rich Connecticut family, he attended prestigious Williams College.

“The age difference scared her off at first,” said a friend of the CBS Evening News anchor. Rumor had it that Perlin had a roving eye with the ladies. Maybe this is what finally did scare her off.

Katie Couric is the anchor and managing editor of the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric a 60 Minutes correspondent and anchor of CBS News primetime specials. When the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric debuted on Sept. 5, 2006, Couric became the first female solo anchor of a weekday network evening news broadcast. Since then, she has reported on and anchored from some of the biggest stories, domestically and internationally.

She may be one of our favorite cougars, but she’s picked her boytoy with better precision that she has her movies. Forget the fact that Geena Davis hasn’t had a big screen Hollywood hit in some time. Her last hits were in 1991 and 1992 for Thelma and Louise[tag] and [tag]A League Of Their Own. Her Oscar winning performance in The Accidental Tourist (1988) just isn’t carrying much weight these days.

Not only does she appear to have a knack for picking the wrong pictures to showcase her talents, prior to her 4th marriage to Dr. Reza Jarrahy, who’s 15 years her junior, she’s struck out in the marriage department with Jeff Goldblum, (Transylvania 6-5000, The Fly and Earth Girls Are Easy) Richard Emmolo and and Renny Harlin (Cutthroat Island and The Long Kiss Goodnight).

In television she was off to a rocky start with her short-lived sitcom The Geena Davis Show. But this show was the forerunner for better things to come as she guest-starred as Grace Adler’s sister Janet on the NBC sitcom Will & Grace in 2004.

Finally the viewers sat up and took notice as she starred in the ABC television series Commander in Chief as the first female President of the United States. This role captured her a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama Series in 2006. She also was nominated for a SAG Award for Outstanding Female Actor in a Drama Series and an Emmy Award.

Here’s hoping her newest venture “Exit 19, scheduled to premiere this fall, will give us another round of awards.

We’re looking forward to statuesque (6 ft. tall) Geena Davis starring as a quirky Manhattan detective, who is also a single mom living in the suburbs, in “Exit 19″ for CBS.

“Exit 19″ was developed at ABC Studios and Davis will serve as a co-executive producer.

Geena’s innate goofiness should fit right in with CBS’s description of “quirky” and give Genna another top television vehicle to showcase her many talents.

Davis, last appeared as the lead in ABC drama Commander in Chief, which ended its run in 2006.

P.S. Did you know that Last year, Davis was approached for the lead on “Criminal Minds” after the exit of star Mandy Patinkin.
